Mass Media Exposure

Today I’m going to be talking about why mass media exposure should be part of your marketing mix this year. Now I’d like you to think about some of your main competitors. And think about whether or not they put time, effort and money into marketing through their social channels. And think about whether you do this as well.

And chances are the answer is yes you do and most of your competitors do. And that’s brilliant because social media marketing is really important. But now think about your competitors and think do they put time effort and money into their mass media exposure. And chances are they don’t. And what this means is that there is an awesome opportunity for you to rise above your competitors and be the go to expert for your industry in the media.

Journalists are looking for good spokespeople. You are all experts in your particular area. And seriously by not going forward to the journalists with angles that are newsworthy to them and they want to talk about or produce within their media outlets, it is a lost opportunity. So a lot of people haven’t gone down this route because they don’t know where to start. They don’t think what they have to say is important enough. They don’t have the journalist contacts and they just don’t know where to start.
